Melissa currently focuses her practice in corporate, regulatory, foreign trade, telecommunications and immigration law, providing legal advice to national and foreign companies.

During her professional training she focused her practice on civil procedures, private action crimes and diverse family proceedings.

Another of her areas of interest and practice is the resolution of conflicts through alternative mechanisms to the ordinary justice system. She practiced and was certified as a mediator at the Mediation Centre of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
