Melissa focuses her practice on financial, corporate and regulatory law, advising national and international companies on commercial and financial transactions, as well as on corporate, regulatory and immigration matters within the Ecuadorian market. She has participated in the structuring of financing transactions, including loans, credit facilities, trusts and sustainable finance projects, such as green bonds and blue bonds.
In the corporate field, she advises on the incorporation of companies, domiciliation of foreign entities in Ecuador, establishment of foundations and non-profit organizations, capital increases and reductions, corporate reorganizations and liquidation processes, as well as on ongoing corporate compliance. Her experience also includes regulatory matters in the insurance and telecommunications sectors, including qualification processes for risk inspection entities, obtaining operating permits, licenses and regulatory authorizations, and regulatory compliance for technology, infrastructure and satellite services companies.
Additionally, she leads the firm’s immigration practice, managing immigration regularization processes for executives and foreign personnel of multinational companies, including temporary and permanent residence visas, naturalizations and compliance with Ecuadorian immigration regulations.
