Melina has significant experience in Corporate, Banking and Finance Law. In recent years she has developed substantial knowledge in banking regulatory matters, financial transactions and security arrangements working as in-house legal counsel for a multinational bank. More recently, she has advised multilateral and bilateral development finance institutions such as IDB Invest, IFC and JICA as lenders in secured and unsecured loans, as investors in local bond issuances and in securitization transactions.

Before joining BUSTAMANTE FABARA, she was an associate of a renowned firm in Ecuador where she was part of the Corporate, Banking and Finance teams.

Currently, Melina focuses her practice on Banking and Finance Law with an emphasis on capital markets, funds and investment, including other transactions related to the Firm’s practice. She also actively contributes in the M&A area, in local and international transactions and corporate and asset acquisitions.
