About Diego Pino  

BUSTAMANTE FABARA´s newest Partner has an impressive track record of more than 20 years in the field of tax law. He is recognized for his exceptional talent and deep knowledge, as well as his accurate and dedicated advice, particularly in complex and sophisticated cases. He authored a comprehensive tax law guide  “Manual de Derecho Tributario Formal“, and has served as a university professor at the International University of Ecuador (UIDE) and International SEK University (UISEK).   His track record includes advice on complex taxation and customs issues, acting as leading counsel on tax litigation and administrative claims before many tax administrations, including before the Tax Disputes Tribunal, the Tax Litigation Chamber of the National Court of Justice, and filing extraordinary protection actions before the Constitutional Court. 

Diego has held important positions throughout his career, including his role as Director at BUSTAMANTE FABARA since January 2022, and his tenure at FABARA & CIA. ABOGADOS from 2006 to 2021. He also excelled as Advisor to the National Council of Free Trade Zones and at the Ministry of International Trade, as well as Tax Attorney at the Internal Revenue Service and Provincial Director/Legal Head at the same entity. He began his career as an advisor in the Vice Presidency of the Republic between 1999 and 2001. 

Diego has been recognized in the tax field by prominent publications such as Legal 500, ITR World Tax, and Chambers & Partners.
